Dan walked into the flat, the hood of his jacket up as he kicked the door shut and sighed. He'd gotten his hair cut, but he wasn't sure if he liked it yet. Well, he liked it, but would Phil? The brunette was sort of.... crushing on his best friend and flat mate. Was crushing the right word? He had no freaking idea what his feelings were doing. All he knew was that his stomach was constantly twisting up in knots around Phil lately.
"Dan? Are you home?" the older called from Dan's room, the door open wide. He was working on editing a video, but he'd heard the unmistakable click of the door and Dan-sigh.
Walking to the door frame and leaning against it, the younger shook his head, "Nope, I died in a horrible scissor incident. Oh, and you can't have my subscribers, sorry, I promised Charlie he got 'em."
Chair spinning around, Phil let a frown tug at the corners of his lips. What was eating at Dan all of a sudden? He was in a good mood when he left! "You okay?"
"Me? Yeah. Just tired. And I don't know about this haircut." Dan shrugged, collapsing onto his bed and hugging Phil's Totoro plushie, which he had swiped the other day, "If I show you, will you give me your honest opinion?"
Phil moved from the desk chair to the mattress, sitting next to the brunette and nodding reassuringly, "Of course. I bet it looks good."
As soon as Dan tugged the hood down, Phil couldn't manage to take his eyes off the younger. Oh, the new hair suited him so well..... He looked even more attractive, if that was possible. The white and black studs Dan had stuck into his ears before he left peeked out only slightly more than normal, and just.... Wow.
"I can't tell if your staring is good or bad. Please say something."
Shaking his head, hoping to clear it, Phil blinked his big blue eyes at the other boy. "Oh... Uhm, yeah, it looks.... Nice."
"Just nice?" Dan pouted, collapsing dramatically onto his bed, "I was kind of hoping it looked a little nicer than just nice."
Phil blushed, not really sure how to reply to that. He didn't want to make his sudden childish butterflies for the younger too obvious, after all. "Ehm.... Well, if I was, you know, a fangirl or something, I'd probably say it was really sexy. Like, really."
As soon as the words left the raven-haired boy's mouth, he wasn't the only one blushing. Blue eyes met brown for a split second and the moment got even more awkward. Did Phil really mean that, or....?
"Uh, thanks..... Thanks, Phil...."
They stayed quiet for a few minutes after that, Dan still stretched out on the mattress and Phil perched on the edge, neither wanting to make any sort of eye contact. All of these new emotions were bubbling up inside both youtubers, emotions that made them feel just.... weird.
Taking a deep breath, Phil stood, breaking the silence with a quiet, "Well... I'm gonna go make noodles for dinner.... I'll call when they're done."
Dan nodded, still cuddling with the plushie that he began to notice smelled an awful lot like its owner, muttering, "Yeah, okay.... Thanks again...."
